What to expect
Visiting a new church can be a nerve-wracking experience for a variety of reasons.
One of them is just not knowing what to expect when you visit. This page is our best attempt to help you know exactly what you’re walking into.
What:
The worship service is the center of our life together as a community.
Each week we gather to be with Jesus together.
This is an essential part of positioning our lives for a healing relationship with Jesus and one another.
What happens during the service?
Starting at 10:15a, everyone is welcome to come, have some coffee, maybe a donut, and get settled for the service. The service itself starts shortly after 10:15a and consists of live music with a band, engaging Bible teaching that promises to be practical in your day-to-day life, and often includes a time of text message Q&A so you can ask anything that’s on your mind.
Am I welcome if I’m not a Christian?
100%! In fact, we’ve designed Formation with you in mind. We want our church to be a place where you can belong before you believe. You can have questions, doubts, hurts and pains and you’re still always welcome.
Will I be singled out if I’m new?
Absolutely not! You’re our guest and that would be a horrible thing to do to you. Plus, every Sunday we have lots of people just like you who are checking out Formation for the first time. Our goal is for you to have the best experience possible, which means we won’t single you out in any way.
What about my kids?
We’ve got them covered. Formation Kids (6 weeks - 5th grade) have their own service where they’re taught the Bible in age-appropriate environments, play games, do art projects, and make great friends. Our goal is to create a fun, secure, and clean environment where they will be well cared for and loved. Please note: due to our space layout, kids checkin closes at 10:25a so make sure you arrive prior to then. More kids info.
Where should I park?
Our space is located in an office park, so there is always ample parking on Sunday mornings. Just follow our directional signs and you can’t go wrong.
Is there a dress code?
Nope. Come as you are and wear whatever you feel comfortable in. You can "dress up" if you want to or wear casual clothes. Most people who call Formation “home” dress causal, but you feel free to dress however you feel most comfortable. God is more interested in your heart than how you’re dressed.
Do you have your own building?
We converted 4,000 sq ft into a space that we also worship in on Sunday mornings. We like to joke that we're the "tiny house" of churches. We have space for all we need and little else:) Because space is limited, we always encourage people to be on time, so you're guaranteed a seat. If for some reason the service is full, you'll see an A-frame sign inviting you back next week. Big idea, come on time, grab some coffee and we'd love to have you!
