Pastor Ryan Huguley | Lead Pastor

Pastor Ryan and Tami met in 2001 while working at Starbucks together. They married in 2005 and now have three children: Ava, Ryder, and Lincoln, as well as a dog named Wicket (obviously named after the most famous Ewok from Return of the Jedi).

Pastor Ryan has been blessed to serve in a number of diverse churches and roles, but his richest ministry experience has come from church planting. After joining a core group in 2001, his heart came alive to see new churches planted. In 2005, Pastor Ryan and Tami planted Redemption Bible Church with a few friends in the suburbs of Chicago.

After a brief season serving as a senior pastor in North Carolina, the Huguley's began to sense a call to plant again. In the fall of 2017, they arrived in Salt Lake and immediately got to work starting Ridgeline Church in the Salt Lake valley.

God spent four years making Ridgeline a safe place for people to find healing relationship with Jesus. In early 2022, Pastor Ryan started to sense an invitation from God to align Ridgeline's identity with reality of what He had transformed Ridgeline into. As a community, Ridgeline has entered into a three month season of aligning around this new identity in July, August and September of 2022. From the beautiful foundation of Ridgeline, Formation Church was born.

In addition to leading Formation, Pastor Ryan co-hosts the “From The Field” podcast for ministry leaders, he co-founded myXP with Pastor Tyler Drewitz, and in 2017 published his first book, 8 Hours or Less: Writing Faithful Sermons Faster with Moody Publishing.
